Focusing on key issues such as the increasing eutrophication of the water ecological environment in the Poyang Lake Basin, the growing threat of heavy metal pollution to people and ecological health, and the coupled effects of large-scale water conservancy projects and global climate change leading to changes in the water ecological environment pattern of the basin, this study focuses on studying the evolution laws and driving mechanisms of the water ecological environment in the Poyang Lake Basin under the dual effects of human activities and global climate change; Developing key technologies for economically efficient, green, and low-carbon treatment of characteristic industrial wastewater such as non-ferrous metals and rare earths, as well as urban and rural domestic wastewater in Jiangxi Province, integrating and innovating complete sets of technologies for resource utilization of poultry and livestock manure suitable for the situation in Jiangxi Province, and constructing the best management mode for comprehensive control of agricultural non-point source pollution in hilly red soil areas with "planting breeding adding" resource recycling as the core, breaking through the bottleneck of in-situ treatment of endogenous pollution and eutrophication prevention and control technology in Poyang Lake, and effectively supporting the preparation and implementation of major plans and key projects for the protection and restoration of Poyang Lake's water ecological environment and pollution prevention and control.

He is professor and doctoral supervisor at the School of Resources and Environment, Nanchang University, and also the deputy director of the Key Laboratory of Poyang Lake Environment and Resource Utilization of the Ministry of Education. He is mainly engaged in research on water environment protection and pollution control in river basins. He has a strong interest in the treatment of nitrogen and phosphorus pollution and eutrophication control in lake water bodies, the development and engineering application of new environmental functional materials, and the research and engineering application of new water treatment technologies. He has led and completed more than 20 great scientific research projects, including 4 major water special projects and sub projects in China, 2 projects funded by the Natural Science Foundation of China, the "Double Thousand Plan" innovation leading talent long-term project in Jiangxi Province, key research and development projects in Jiangxi Province, and key projects funded by the Natural Science Foundation of Jiangxi Province. He has published over 130 academic papers, including more than 70 papers as the first/corresponding author in important SCI indexed journals in the field of ecological environment, such as Environmental Science & Technology and Water Research. He has also published 4 academic monographs; Obtained over 20 domestic and foreign invention patents as the first inventor (including 6 patents in the United States and Japan); Won the second prize of China Science and Technology Progress Award, the first prize of China Society of Environmental Sciences Environmental Protection Science and Technology Award, the second prize of China Circular Economy Association Science and Technology Award, the third prize of China Plant Protection Society Science and Technology Award, as well as the third prize of China University Teacher Teaching Innovation Competition, the special prize of Jiangxi Province University Teacher Teaching Innovation Competition, and the first and second prizes of Nanchang University Teacher Teaching Innovation Competition. Chen Jianxin, Ph.D., Professor
He is professor and doctoral supervisor at the School of Resources and Environment, Nanchang University, specializes in Environmental Pollution and Control Chemistry. His research focuses on the preparation, catalytic mechanisms, and performance optimization of catalysts used in advanced oxidation wastewater treatment systems. Professor Chen has proposed a regulation mechanism for the heterogeneous photo-Fenton catalytic process, which is based on photogenerated electrons, chemical reduction, and complexation solubilization. He has also elucidated the synergistic degradation mechanisms of organic pollutants within this system and developed an innovative "self-enhanced degradation" technology for wastewater treatment.

Zhang Ru, Ph.D., Professor
She is professor and master's Supervisor served as the director of the Environmental Testing Center of Nanchang University. The research direction is: watershed non-point source pollution control, water treatment, waste resource utilization, and agricultural carbon neutrality. She published over 40 related papers in domestic core journals and above in recent years. As the first person in charge, undertook multiple projects including the National Natural Science Foundation (51169019), National Key Research and Development Program (2016YFC04015000) sub project, Global Environment Facility "Innovative Transformation of China's Agricultural Ecosystem for Sustainable Development" sub project, and Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs "National Monitoring of Nitrogen and Phosphorus Loss in Farmland".

Ping Zhang, Ph.D., Professor
She is professor and doctoral supervisor at the School of Resources and Environment, Nanchang University, and is a leading academic and technical expert in key disciplines of Jiangxi Province and a recipient of the Jiangxi Provincial Distinguished Youth Fund. His primary research focuses on developing environmentally functional materials and their applications in watershed pollution control and agricultural resource utilization. To date, Professor Zhang has led over 20 projects, including three National Natural Science Foundation projects, one major provincial agricultural research project, and one Key Research and Development 'Revealing the List and Taking the Lead'" Project, with a total funding of nearly 9 million RMB. She has published over forty SCI papers as the first or corresponding author, including 13 papers with an impact factor exceeding 10. Additionally, he holds four authorized national invention patents and five utility model patents. Addressing the strategic needs of China's green pig farming and comprehensive recycling of agricultural waste, Professor Zhang developed an integrated "Synthesis-Purification" water treatment technology, which enabled the full-scale recycling of livestock and poultry waste into farmland with successfully demonstrated and promoted in multiple pig farms across Jiangxi Province. His work has significantly contributed to the green development of Jiangxi's pig farming industry, earning him the position of Specially Appointed Expert in Environmental Management within Jiangxi's Swine Industry Technology System.

Hong Huang, Ph.D., Professor
Hong Huang (born in 1975), female, doctoral supervisor, and professor, has dedicated 20 years to teaching and research in environmental science and engineering. She obtained her doctoral degree from Sun Yat-sen University in July 2005. Her research interests lie in Earth science, atmospheric environment, environment and health, as well as environmental chemistry. She has published over 50 academic papers as the first or corresponding author, with more than 20 of them appearing in top SCI journals such as Gondwana Research and Atmospheric Environment. Huang Hong has undertaken and completed 3 National Natural Science Foundation projects, led 1 provincial-level education reform project, and headed over 50 horizontal research projects with a total budget exceeding 4 million yuan. From 2009 to 2024, she mentored more than 30 graduate students. Her research has made a significant impact in the field of Earth sciences.

Kun Li, Ph.D., Associate Professor
Kun Li, Associate Professor, graduated from the Research Center for Eco-Environmental Sciences, Chinese Academy of Sciences, with a Ph.D. in Environmental Engineering. He is currently the Deputy Dean of the School of Resources and Environmental Sciences at Nanchang University. His main research focuses on advanced wastewater treatment and resource recovery. He has led and completed over 10 national, provincial, and horizontal projects, and published more than 40 academic papers in well-known domestic and international journals (including 27 SCI papers, 24 as the first author or corresponding author, 1 highly cited paper, with over 500 citations for a single paper, more than 2500 total citations, and an h-index of 18). He has presented 12 papers at domestic and international academic conferences, guided students to win 5 national and provincial awards, and applied for 5 national patents (3 authorized). He serves as a reviewer for multiple domestic and international journals, an expert reviewer for national fund projects, a project review expert for the Jiangxi Provincial Department of Science and Technology, a member of the Jiangxi Provincial Water Ecological Environment Expert Database, and a liaison for the Jiangxi Environmental Science Society at Nanchang University.

Liu Zhenzhong, Ph.D., Associate Professor
Liu Zhenzhong, a master's supervisor with a focus on research related to control technologies for emerging pollutants in water. In her academic career, she has led and participated in multiple projects funded by the Science and Technology Department of Jiangxi Province and the Science and Technology Fund of the Jiangxi Provincial Department of Education. She has also guided students in completing numerous innovation and entrepreneurship projects at national, provincial, and university levels. Additionally, she holds six national patents and has mentored students to achieve two first-prize awards, several second-prize awards, and multiple third-prize awards in the National College Student Water Supply and Drainage Discipline Competition. Furthermore, she published over 60 academic papers in mainstream academic journals both domestically and internationally.

Zehua Wang, Ph.D., Associate Professor
Zehua Wang, male, associate professor, master's supervisor. He is mainly engaged in the synthesis of environmental functional materials and their application in wastewater treatment and the research on the resource utilization of solid wastes such as fly ash. Presided over 1 National Natural Science Foundation Youth Fund, 1 Jiangxi Provincial Natural Science Foundation Youth Fund, 1 school-level education reform project, participated in 4 National Natural Science Foundation projects, published more than 10 SCI/EI papers in journals such as Journal of Hazardous Materials as the first author or corresponding author. Applied for 7 national invention patents. He directed one innovation special fund project for graduate students in Jiangxi Province, five innovation and entrepreneurship training projects for college students (two of which are national level), and six scientific research training projects. Huijun Ding, Ph.D., Senior engineer, graduated from Wuhan University majoring in Environmental Science. In recent years, she is mainly engaged in environmental migration and transformation, effects and pollution control of antibiotics and resistance genes in the environment, as well as water pollution control in river basins and water ecological environment protection and restoration. She has presided over and participated in more than 40 scientific research projects at all levels; Won 5 kinds of scientific and technological awards, published more than 60 papers; Participated in the publication of 2 monographs and 2 local standards; Authorized 10 national patents. She was peer review expert of Water Research, Journal of Hazardous Materials and other international mainstream journals, and Jiangxi science and technology project review database expert. Dr. Chunli Chen, Associate Professor and PhD holder, is affiliated with the Poyang Lake Environmental and Resource Utilization Key Laboratory, Ministry of Education, and the College of Resources and Environment at Nanchang University. Her research primarily focuses on the environmental processes and ecological risk assessment of persistent organic pollutants (POPs) across multiple environmental media.Dr. Chen has authored or co-authored more than 20 research papers published in prestigious SCI journals, including Environmental Science & Technology, Analytical Chemistry, Marine Pollution Bulletin, Human and Ecological Risk Assessment, and Chemistry and Ecology.

Rui Zhao, Ph.D., Associate Professor
Rui Zhao, received her PhD in municipal engineering from the university of Chongqing University, China in 2022. She joined the Nanchang University in 2023. Her research interest includes synthesis and characterization of nanoporous materials for adsorption, adsorption process for water purification, modeling and simulation of adsorption process, development of organic flocculant for algae removal, water treatment and purification. Dr. Zhao acted as the principal investigator in 3 projects. With the support of China National Science Foundation, Dr. Zhao has published more than 30 academic articles on peer-reviewed journal, successfully applied for 2 Chinese patents, participated in 8 national and international conferences/lectures.

Wei Wan, Ph.D., Associate Professor, Master's Degree Supervisor. Wei Wan graduated from China Agricultural University with a PhD degree in June 2022, majoring in land use and information technology. From July 2022 to December 2024, he was a lecturer in the College of Resources and Environment of Nanchang University; from December 2024 to present, he is an associate professor in the College of Resources and Environment of Nanchang University. Wei Wan's research interests include remote sensing of resources and environment and GIS. Chunyang Zhou, Ph.D., Associate Professor
Dr. Chunyang Zhou is an Associate Researcher at the Faculty of Resources and Environment, Nanchang University, China, specializing in biogeochemical processes of trace elements and major nutrients (C, N, P) across various environmental systems. His research focuses on: 1) Biogeochemical cycling of trace elements, nutrients, and sulfide at the sediment-water interface, with a particular emphasis on sediment microniches; 2) Bioavailability and speciation of trace elements and nutrients in water and sediment; 3) High-resolution, two-dimensional imaging of trace elements and nutrients mobilization in soil and sediment; 4) Multilateral interactions between dissolved organic matter (DOM), microorganisms, and minerals in sediments. Dr. Zhou has published over 25 peer-reviewed articles and received grants from the National and Regional Natural Science Foundations of China. He has long-standing collaborations with Lancaster University (UK), Leuven University (Belgium), Vrije Universiteit Brussels (Belgium), and the University of Lleida (Spain), and has co-authored more than 10 publications supported by the National Foreign Expert Program.

Xu Jinying, Ph.D., Assistant Researcher
Xu Jinying, female, holds a Ph.D. in Environmental Science from the Institute of Geography and Limnology, Chinese Academy of Sciences. She is currently an Assistant Researcher at the School of Resources and Environment, Nanchang University, where she teaches courses such as "Water Resources Utilization and Protection," "Environmental Technology Innovation and Entrepreneurship," and "Introduction to Environmental Engineering." Dr. Xu actively participates in projects funded by the National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC) and has hosted a total of 5 provincial scientific research projects and horizontal projects. Her research interests include the migration and transformation of pollutants in wetlands, the geochemical cycling and mechanisms of nutrient elements in wetlands, and the resource utilization and environmental impact of hydrothermal carbonization of livestock and poultry manure. She has published more than 10 SCI papers in related fields.
